Red Hot works with motivated, ambitious business owners to grow and develop their business. The Red Hot business coaching process addresses both the planning and development of your business over the long term AND helps you to take action now to move your business forward.

We do have one very important expectation - You must open to receiving honest feedback.

Sometimes the feedback you need to hear is the feedback you don’t want to hear. You may be denying something or even avoiding it. We make a promise to all our clients that they will get the truth from us – even if they don’t want to hear it. Think of us as a mirror being held up in front of you. In that mirror you’ll see the imperfections as well as the beauty of your business. Once you’ve embraced what needs to be changed – you can begin making meaningful enhancements to your business. And sometimes seeing the imperfections can be a little painful…

We’ll also do that while having as much fun as possible. After all if you’re not having fun – you’re not doing it right.

Meet the Team

One of the key strengths of Red Hot is the experience, expertise and vision of the directors. All the directors have established successful businesses from scratch and are committed to an entrepreneurial vision. They combine a passion for business success and growth with the practicality of experience and wisdom from having built businesses from the ground up.

The three founding directors of Red Hot Business Coaching are Karl Baker, Mark Skelly and Lance Jensen.

                            

The Red Hot Founders

We’re all also passionate about making a difference. “Status Quo” is like a dirty word around here. If someone tells us they’re doing something a certain way because “that’s the way we’ve always done it” we’re likely to want to hit them (figuratively only… of course). We live to make a positive difference in the world – and that can only be achieved through change. And we do that one business at a time.

Karl Baker (founder)

Karl left the BNZ to form his own mortgage broking company called Approved Mortgage Brokers when he was 24. This business grew rapidly and was eventually successfully franchised out and sold to a publically listed company for $1.2 Million. Karl then became one of the founding directors of Red Hot Business Coaching.

He thrives on assisting business owners to grow their business and also their own capabilities and self-belief. He has been trained to coach by Leanne Babcock, one of New Zealanders leading coach trainers and has been practicing for over 5 years. Karl has seen a lot of business highs and lows over his time in business and has a very practical and straightforward approach to business and business coaching. Karl has also been involved in in-depth personal development and brings a strong holistic approach to his coaching.

Karl has worked with many companies and specialises in business start ups, businesses looking to franchise, service based businesses and businesses with big goals and expansion plans. Some of the businesses that Karl has worked with in the past include Chow Restaurant, Borders Real Estate, Realsure - The House Inspectors and The Johnson Group.

Lance Jensen (founder)

Lance’s passion is building businesses and creating personal wealth for both himself and others... So much so, the entire focus of his company is to facilitate exactly that!

He is currently (and believes he always will be) on a fantastic journey of personal development. Lance loves the massive growth & learning that comes with introspection, feedback and the preparedness to be vulnerable.  His life is becoming more & more peaceful and rewarding - and he is grateful for all of his clients & friends who are on the journey with him.  After 6 years as a business coach and having worked with literally hundreds of business owners now – across all industries – Lance is still just as passionate and focused as ever!

Lance is an exceptional chess player and strategist… His wealth of experience, his understanding of people, his speed to grasp new concepts, and finally his ability to extrapolate a scenario means Lance consistently manages to make 1 plus 1 equal 6 – and has done this all his working life.  He consistently inspires the best in people and is an HUGE asset to any business.

Prior to making the switch to coaching and establishing Red Hot (with Mark Skelly and Karl Baker), Lance worked in IT, built his own property investment portfolio and established a successful international Option Trading business investing six figure sums on behalf of his clients.  And when he’s not working, Lance is a keen football player,  snow boarder, and mountain biker.

Mark Skelly (founder)

Mark Skelly is a founding director of Red Hot Business Coaching. He’s a serial entrepreneur, having run numerous businesses ranging from operations in the hundreds of millions of dollars to his own successful small businesses. He’s an active investor, having grown a property portfolio to include 9 properties across the country, is happily married with two children under five and holds his private pilot’s license.

Mark now focuses on running his own businesses and supporting other businesses to grow and prosper. Asides from his family, Mark’s passion is in Red Hot Business Coaching, a business that is growing rapidly and making a huge difference for many New Zealanders. A part of Mark’s journey with Red Hot was helping it become a Finalist in the NZ Franchise System of the Year awards 2 years running! Mark has also worked with Kurek Ashley, one of the top peak performance coaches in the world (which is where he learned to fire walk).

Mark has coached hundreds of business owners and some of Mark’s recent clients include a tyre company that doubled in size within a year, an electrical company that grew by over $1 Million dollars, and a recruitment company that increased its turnover by 1000% within 12 months.
